I got it! :oD
Had to wait three hours before I could take the bandage off and take a picture, but here it is!

Well, here he is! The Fox from Disney's Robin Hood. I think he turned out really good!
Though, I *am* a little jealous of teh hubby's tattoo, which is absolutely gorgeous:

Three fishes for three brothers. A friend of ours came up with the basic design idea, and the Tattoo artist made it all work, and added the scales and shading to the idea, and I think it came out just wonderfully. I really *really* like it.
I already have plans for a few more, eventually ;oD
So, the big question - did it hurt? Yes and no. When he first started doing the black line work, I was surprised how much it did hurt, but I quickly got used to it, and it wasn't that bad. Some places I could barely feel anything, but there were two spots that hurt every time he went over them. Kinda weird.
Mine went really quick, only about 30 minutes, while the hubby's took an hour, which was still quicker than I thought it would be! We got both of them done for $260 Canadian, which is pretty darned reasonable.
We went to Highway 2 Tattoo in Scarborough, and it was a really nice place; clean, hygenic, and everyone seemed to really be concerned with making sure everyone was getting the tattoo they wanted. I'd definately reccommend them. We were inked by Chris Fisher, who does some very fine work.
Now it's ten days of keeping it as dry as possible, and in three days we have to start applying moisturizing lotion a few times a day, and avoid direct sunlight for three weeks... and then it'll all be good.
Yay me! *G*

I'm surprised to hear that it didn't hurt that much. I always thought it would hurt like hell to get a tattoo.

It didn't hurt quite enough to put me off the idea of getting another though :oD
It was an experience, I'll say that much *G*

But... OH, LOOK AT IT! On your shoulder like that. And you're all cheerful about the "keeping it dry" thing and the "no sun" thing. (But it's May! Almost! What about pools and sun and summer?!)
Anyway, you're so brave! I'm so proud of you for going through it. It's so nifty! :D

I'm not too too worried about May being *that* warm, and if it is *shrug* it's only three weeks, and that will only be mid May, still plenty of sun and summer and pools to catch up ;o)
And thanks! It was pretty neat to do, and it's kinda cool just knowing he's back there... hee hee!

Could be... I've always been into the anthropomorphic Disney animals ;oD
I guess I'll have to get myself a big 'furry' costume now, eh?

I have furry friends.

hehehehe! Right on the wall behind the counter at the tattoo parlour there was a sign with flames that read "Welcome to your new ADDICTION" hehehe and I think it could be true! *G*

Your hubby's tattoo is looooooooovely. Such a balanced, intricate design. With a meaning. :)
What do you have planned next??

I *do* love the hubby's so... and really, the picture juest doesn't do it justice, it is soo much cooler in person.
I have several ideas for what I might get done next...
I have a Norse serpent design that I use in my heraldry in my medieval club that I'd like to get done, with similar shading to the hubby's... I'd also like to get a little Serenity passing by a moon, with the yellow flair of the engines in my left shoulder blade... and maybe the chinese characters for serenity on the back of my right hand, at the V of thumb and forefinger ... *shrug* lots of ideas right now *G* I'll have to start saving my money though...
