So! Many! Shirts!

T-Shirt Making Shindig yesterday was quite the event :o) I think in total, there were 15 adults and 2 kids here at my house, the first arriving about 11:30 am and the last leaving around 9:30 pm! Good day!!!

People seemed to be having a blast, and there was a whole production line thing going on, with designated spooners, and screeners, and people who held the screen, and people who centred the screen, and people who washed up... it was non stop screening fun! And the shirts!!! The shirts were EVERYWHERE! Every available hanging place had a t-shirt, and just about every available hanger I had was employed, and the rest of the shirts were carefully folded, or draped over lamps, or on the front porch, or the back of chairs... it was unbelievable. We did well over 50 shirts, I have no doubt.

[livejournal.com profile] elizalavelle went out and brought back more paint when we ran out of white, including a jar of Gold, which was a HUGE hit. Suddenly there were gold screened shirts everywhere... new images added to the backs of already done shirts - the gold on red BlueSun logos were stunning!!!

And I just have to point out that I had NOTHING to do with Kevin deciding to try out the Canadian Browncoats logo that I didn't think worked very well, and that everyone liked how it looked in gold and scrambled to get it on the backs of their shirts - so [livejournal.com profile] artemis_prime, it was not my fault!!! ;o)

There was of course some Firefly and Serenity watching... I know they got through the movie, and I saw they were on the second disc of Firefly before the night was over.

[livejournal.com profile] artemsis_prime and I took a little time out for some guitar playing up in my *very-messy-that-no-one-was-supposed-to-see* sewing/music room, which was fun. I so very rarely get to actually sit and *PLAY* with anyone!

All in all it was a great day, and we're already talking about having another one in the fall *G*

Unfortunately, we didn't get many pictures this year... so hopefully people will take a few of their own shirts and put them up, cuz there were some specatular ones - my personal favourite was definately [livejournal.com profile] elizalavelle's Buffy shirt, gold on purple... with the gold bluesun on red my next fav I think. Might have to make one of those myself *G*

Ohhh... Gold on Red blue sun? Who made that one?

I'm very sorry I had to dash so early before everything was done.

Saturday would be cool.

Will you be making the Waitress shindig on Saturday?

Oops. I thought Ali took them as she was folding them and putting them in a pile while I made sure that all 6 were there.

I can't even figure out which to wear on Friday! I'm so in if there's another one! I want to design more! Also I want to screen a Blue Sun shirt... I didn't have the right colour for that one yet....

LOL this is true. Next time I'll get one made.... perhaps with my own handprints on the back... ;)

No, really, I won't get mad at you about the Cdn BC logo. Really...I'm going to remain calm...no frayed nerves or violent outbursts...it's going well so far...

And you said it couldn't be done (insert very dry, very drole voice).

I liked the guitar as well. I'm not much for little kids, but would have liked if that kid had been able to play. Eh, it was still nice. Think I might have the beginning of Dust in the Wind, too. :)

Thanks again for the shindig. So the next one will be in the fall for the winter clothes, right?

Cool. Then we can get some of our winter woolies done.

Hero of Canton? What is this 'Hero of Canton' of which you speak? I know of no such thing...

Oh yeah, one more thing. I'm still planning on getting some buttons done of the Cdn BC logo. Think it'll fly? Thinking of about 100, maybe for all those who receive prizes and the volunteers.

That was my original idea. I think that the patches would look much better than buttons and make it feel more "military" ala the Independents. Not sure how to even got started with that. Ideally, I'd like to have them for the screening. Any suggestions?

I doubt that we could sell 100 patches. Even 50 is pushing it, I think. Still, it would be nice to have. Do you have a website for the US company? Did you try any Cdn ones? I know that artik.com in TO also does embroidery; I'll have to e-mail them about that.

I'm trying to e-mail them back as we speak, but it was delivery failure so I tried again. Hopefully, I can get an answer. It's not as much about price as having a few dozen wasted patches hanging around my house :) And are you suggesting that we have temp tattoos of the Cdn BC logo? Hmmm...speaking of which, what's the next one?
