A New Year's Day

Is it fair to wake up on New Year's Day, feeling like you have a hangover, without having had a drop of alcohol the night before?
*grumbles*
It is the last day of my vacation, and the last time I posted was on the first day of my vacation. Looking back, it was a pretty good break, overall. Visited family on 4 days, visited friends on two of the days, went shopping for one full day and a couple quick trips on two other days, and relaxed and did basically nothing for two and a half days. Not bad. Did I get everything done I wanted to get done? Not even close. Did I relax? Somewhat. Did I enjoy the week? Absolutely.
With the exception of Christmas Eve, I did not go to bed before 3 am ONCE this week, and was often up till 4am, and even 6am on my first night :oD
And *that* boys and girls is why I feel hung over without the fun of getting drunk the night before.
Looking back, 2006 was a pretty shiny year overall. Lot's of new experiences for me, and because I'm feeling nostalgic, here's a little list in random order:
My brother and his girlfriend had a baby! Wheeee! I became an aunt!
I found the LJ Firefly comms and all a' you *waves* Hi flist!
I went to Montreal for the first time, and got to meet
goldy_dollar while I was there.
I went to SFX and got to hang with
elizalavelle and meet a bunch of other browncoats, including
noneofyours and
willowcat, and saw
styrofoam_guy again, and lots of others who are and aren't on LJ, and of course – meet Morena Baccarin and Christina Hendricks :oD *happy sigh*
I got to meet a bunch of the Canadian Browncoats and help out at the Charity Screening of Serenity. That was such a great night.
I was squired at the Trillium War.
I got to shoot automatic weapons at the armouries at a shindig.
I got to meet
hjea at a shindig in Toronto!
I met the Quills Inc. gals, who are such a great trio :oD and I made a truly BFF in
terimaru *waves*
I got called into court and praised for my fighting and was given an axe from the King, and later a dagger blade from another Knight.
I gained an on-line wife! *waves at
agent_rouka*
I wrote more stories this year than I ever have before in my life :oD and got hopelessly stalled a time or two, too. *grumbleChoicesgrumble*
I was awarded my Scarlet Banner for fighting *is proud*
I got a Laptop!
I redid my Kitchen! and my Sitting Room!!!
Well.. I'm sure there was lots more.. but those are just a few that immediately come to mind.
So long 2006! Here's looking forward to 2007 bein' even better!

Date: 2007-01-01 09:41 pm (UTC)Oh. *bottom lip sticks out*
I'm not good with chat! So I always sort of forget that it even exists unless someone reminds me. *sad face*
And you keep posting about Dr. Who, so I can't read and comment on your posts cuz I dont' want to get spoiled!!!! It makes things very difficult! (I guess I'd better start watching)
AHHHH. SORRY! It's just that I'm obsessing so HARD! I don't know how to make myself stop! (SO, YEAH. HURRY UP AND WATCH THEN!)
Coincidentally, we've got 28 Days Later playing as we tear down the decorations, and the Dr. from the first season is in it.
Eccleston! Squee!
ut you mentioned the idea of coming to TO this year maybe, and that would totally be cool!!
I'd love to! I dunno if it'll be this year, though. I'm feeling sort of tight where money is concerned, eep! I'm going to try and get a job next semester, though, and that might help. *hopes*
