One thing, huh?

If I could change one thing about myself, well, I think I'd want it so money don’t make me so stupid.

I got smarts enough normally, can track man what don't want to be found, shoot 'em from four hundred yards away, an' be right intimidatin'. Ain't got no trouble with the women folk neither. But every once in a while, sometimes the money makes me go all stupid like and do dumb things.

'Was on account of the money what I tried to turn in ol' Moonbrain and that prissy Doc brother a' hers. Shoulda been smarter'n that. Shoulda known I'd get pinched too. Sometimes I think I'm just too trustin'. An' if the money's good enough, I'll take that chance, hell, I'm only human. Got the same needs as anyone. Money just makes me stupid.

'Got a good thing here, an' I ain't keen to mess that up. But one of these days, one day I'll score me a chance at a really big payoff, an' then… well… Then I guess we'll see how stupid I really am.

You've hit on Jayne's weak point well enough. In my opinion, it's not that he's really stupid, it's just that he lets the idea of the money hypnotise him into ignoring second thoughts.

I'm glad you agree on Jayne... he's Not stupid, he's too good at what he does, and knows too much about guns and stuff and tracking to be stupid, but yeah, the money can make him dumb..
