Happy Ruttin' Monday :o/

browncoat2x2Wonderful day...
I'm alone at work today because the hubby is sick - suffering heat stroke from too much sun on the weekend. There is a local transit strike, so the roads are terribly busy, so, I got permission to leave early to miss some of the traffic, and I went down to the garage and so naturally, my car decides that today is the perfect day to decide not to start. All it does is click rapidly, but no turnover. There's still power, so it leads me to believe it's either the starter or the neutral switch. Swell.
SO, now I'm still at work, waiting for CAA to send their tow truck to tow me an hour back to my dealership, which closes at 5:30, so they'd better get here soon, which also means a ride there in a tow truck with some guy.... uh.. who probably doesn't have air conditioning on the hottest friggen day ever, it's so humid, in rush hour traffic... then i have to get myself home from the dealership, and i don't have my cell phone because we forgot to charge it - thank god this happened at work and not on the road somewhere - So yeah... perfect, perfect day...

Date: 2006-05-29 07:38 pm (UTC)Here, have a generous amount of sympathy and hugs. *HUGS* :) Maybe it would help to visualise Mal and Simon sitting next to you, all sweaty and grumpy and snarking with one another about why Kaylee didn't keep the Mule in repair and who distracted her and who didn't order her and who's being mighty uppity toward his Captain and who's being very eager to blame other people for a case of bad luck and who's going to do septic vac duty when they're back on the ship and who's a petty tyrant and who's not allowed to say "petty" because it doesn't apply and who is delusional and who is a spoiled, fancy, core-bred boy with no respect for hard work and who's very easy to rile and who doesn't thinking it's smart to rile people who are bigger than oneself and who knows that it's too hot for a fist fight anyways....

I've now been waiting two hours for the tow truck... God... I'm taking tomorrow off after this... at this rate, I'm probably not going to be home until 9 or 10 pm, I'm guessing... it's 5 now... maybe I'm overestimating, but if I can deal with the worst case scenario, I can deal with anything better than that... the part that sucks is that by the time I get to the dealership, it will be closed, so there'll be no shuttle service to take me home... I'm either going to have to take a cab, or get in touch with mom and dad and ask for a ride, if I've got enough quarters to do it... *sigh*
In the meantime, I'm alone at work, and I've got internet access, so at least I can LJ... and I was doing it openly in front of my boss, and he didn't say anything about it, so... yay for that much at least, and especially for all the happy Rouka love today!!!! You're a posting machine, darlin'!! *SUPER HUGS*
I'd be *infinitely* pissed off if I didn't have all the lovely LJ posts to keep me occupied.... instead, I'm merely slightly annoyed, and resigned to the fact that I'll have a good sympathy story to tell my friends *G*
