Thursday, I don't care 'bout you....

Tired today, incredibly tired. I don't understand why it works that way. I was better yesterday on less sleep!
Anyway... My day so far:
Writing continues to be a no show... Even setting myself a deadline hasn't helped. *sigh* I hate this. This is the 'old' me, who only wrote five stories in like, ten years of x-files fandom... I can't let that happen! I love writing, I love writing this fandom... it can't go away, it just can't! *cries*
Work was dull as usual... I couldn't keep my mind there, wanted to be home all day, sleeping. Came in to a photocopy of my department boss's mother's obituary... sigh...
The Internet has become a serious addiction of late. I've been neglecting everything else just to LJ, and sit and wait for stuff to read on LJ, and sit and wait for people to comment on LJ... meanwhile, did I mention the writer's block?
Yardwork happened today! Since it was actually NOT raining today, we trimmed the hedge (what a monsterous job that was) cut the grass, weed wacked the weeds, and pulled some weeds, and trimmed some bushes... we had an estimate on trimming back our giant maple tree in the back yard - $475, though I think they cut up anything that's useable as firewood for us... still, sheesh... we're getting another quote, can't hurt to try a few. But still, despite the sore hands and back after, it was really nice to be outside.
Kitchen Cupboards were primed today, just four, but enough to complete one bank of them. Next up, more orange, and then the drawers. Then one whole wall of cupboards will be done! Heeee! I love my kitchen!
T-Shirts need to be made... I have a ton of emulsion left over that is on the verge of expiring, which means I need inspiration to strike so I can make a few before that happens. Did I mention the writer's block? Carries over... :o/ I wore my very favourite, cunning t-shirt today - my Jayne's 'Fightin' Elves' shirt... maybe I'll put pictures of all my t-shirts, firefly and otherwise, up in my scrapbook for all to see and admire *G*
LJ posts were light today, but there was a new story by
goldy_dollar!!! And I read the most amazing nostalgic post in
agent_rouka's journal that just awed me, how different life can be around the world, and made me think back and remember much of my own childhood today. Maybe I'll write it up sometime... hey, that would make a good Meme, rouka darlin'! Tag everyone to write about their memories from when they were four!
And that's been my day today mostly. We were too tired to go to fight practice, so we checked on our friend's cats again, ate Tacos, did yardwork, watched the Muppet Show, painted cupboards, and went online. Excitin' ain't it.
Tomorrow - X-MEN III !!!! Squeeee!

And, of *course* I watched the Muppet Show! I love the muppet show, we have season 1 on dvd and are slowly making our way through, an episode a night with dinner... it's nostalgic and fun!
And as for X-Men, well, I'm probably going to post about how much I 'liked' it... :o/ Let's just say, not so lucky.

Aw sweetie, noooo. You said no more betaing, I don't want to put you under more stress like I did. Nope nope nope nope.
:o) I said if you were desperate... it's okay...
See, I love the muppet show. I don't know what I would do without it.
Really? wow... I'm not that dependent *G* but we do have all the movies... my husband has always been into that kind of puppetry, and even used to make his own puppets and do little videos with them... now, with all the CGI in movies these days, you get less and less actual creature puppets, which I think is a shame... take Farscape for example, it would have totally sucked if the pilot or Rygel were CGI things, but you *believed* in the puppets.... so neat...
As for xmen, I'm probably going to see it Sunday morning, first show, nice and quiet hopefully. I've heard mixed reviews on it, sadly.
Yes, do see it... don't let my review sway you, in fact, going in with a lower expectation will probably let you enjoy the film more... I can be pretty picky and harsh about movies... Hell, there were several things I bitched about in Serenity when I first saw it, so.... all my friends will probably love it, and I'll be in the minority, but... I've lost alot of patience with Hollywood over the years, and when I see the potential a film has that is not lived up to... I get techy... :o)
