Shopping!!

Went clothes shopping today! and spent LOTS of money, but the clothes are sooo pretty :o)
I bought two pairs of linen/cotton pants, one black, one brown, with flared bottoms that have a little boot slit with decorative stiching, and a dangly woven leather belt around the waist... $40 each
I then bought a slightly sheer tan v-neck short sleeved number, with some decorative beadwork and stiching, with a little tie in the back to cinch it up as tight as you want, and it goes marvellously with the brown linen pants... it was $35 I think...
And last, the coolest jacket ever! It's a kakhi green coat sort of like a band type jacket, with brass buttons, and mandarin style collar and it is just so hip and cool, I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! $60..
So, all together with tax it was $180 something - I love my hubby, Squee! But I really needed some new clothes... I'm usually a jeans and t-shirt kinda gal, but my wardrobe has a distinct lack of dressier casual clothes, and I've been feeling the need to be girly and pretty lately... so, I'm pulling out all the clothes I've had stored away in tubs for the last few years to see what, if anything, is worthy of wearing again as I update my wardrobe a bit. People at work will be shocked if I make too gradual a change (things are VERY casual at work) so I'll start slow and work my way up...
The only downside to the whole experience was the annoying sales ladies, who just wouldn't leave me alone while I was trying my stuff on... "how's you sizes? do you need anything? how's it going in there?" ... how's about your frak the hell off and leave me be, woman!! *g*
But, Squeeeee!! Shopping!!!

Oooh!! Stitching and beads.. I love both! *clothes-stealing itch* Details and texture, definitely very pretty.
Last time I went shopping I bought something beaded, too, though as it was shocking pink with a giant glittery ladybug, it was a bit less... classy, hehehe.
Congratulations on a successful shopping mission - and surviving the helpful sales people. *g*

Yes, and definately more delicate than that which I am used to... sadly, I think I am behind the fashion times.. what I was looking for were a lot more flowy garments, but alas, those are the things of last summer, and, really the summer before last... ah me...

I'm sure you look very sweet in it, :o) Lady bugs! heeee...

haha, thank-you... I hate sales people, what can I say... maybe they could be helpful, but they just get my back up with their pushiness, grah!! ehehehe

Date: 2006-05-20 08:41 pm (UTC)But yay shopping. It's been ages since I've been shopping for anything but cards. The mom's coming down and threatened to take me pants-getting, so we'll see.

Date: 2006-05-20 09:02 pm (UTC)I don't know what it is about new clothes that's just so darn fun. But it's awesome so I'll go with it. I picked up a few things in London (It'll be a while before I'm tired of saying that) and like you, as a perenially jeans + t-shirts gal, I got a couple dressy things. Being a girl is just too cool sometimes. ; )

*Cha cha cha*
Wait, now I've got the Charmin Bear dancing in my head.

Well, okay... just so long as we don't do the Merenge... I hated that dance... I'm not as much a fan of the Latin style dances, just don't move right, I guess *G*
And after Salsa... SWING!
*Cha cha cha*
Wait, now I've got the Charmin Bear dancing in my head.
Aauuuugg! The evils of Television!! *G*
