Our First T-Shirts for Sale!!!

So, we've put up our first listings on eBay.

Yep, just sitting back, waiting for the money to rollllll in ;o)

We've got seven shirts listed so far:

1 X-Files shirt that reads: Decieve Inveigle Obfuscate in white text on a black tee (XL)
2 'I'm with Stupid' shirts with an arrow point down at you-know-what, black text on grey (L and XL)
1 'Run, Runner!' Logan's Run t-shirt, a grey band with black text on black tee (L)
2 'g33|<' shirts, one white text on blue (XL) and one white text on red (2XL)
1 'The Angels Have the Phone Box' Doctor Who shirt, black on white tee (XL)

Our listings are boring right now, until I come up with a nice HTML template to use. If you feel like looking for them, look for the distinctive orange border around our pictures in the listings :o)

That Doctor Who shirt is sweet! Did you silk screen that?

These are awesome shirts. Any plans to put the designs on smaller t-shirts in the near future?

I did silkscreen that one... the picture portion is all half tone, which means it's little dots making up the picture, so you can see the dots when you're up close to it, but it turned out pretty cool, yeah.

We do have plans for smaller shirts, and girl style (babydoll as they say) shirts as well, we just have to get back to the t-shirt place in the new year.

I still owe you an art meme shirt too... so... if you wanted something like that.... just say the word ;o)

Does the colour of the shirt affect the image? Like with the Doctor Who one. The main colours of the image are black, white, and grey, but since the shirt is white is that one less colour to worry about?

Is the half tone technique something new you picked up? The quality of the image looks pretty good; looks exactly like it did on the screen.

(Oooh, and yes please on something similar for the t-shirt meme.)

Well,
the only colour of ink I've used here is black - the dots are of varying thickness and concentration to make certain areas appear grey.


Here's what the shirt looks like when you're very up close to it:





You can see the detail is not super duper up close, but when you are standing at a normal distance, it looks really good. That's what half tone dots do. It's like stuff printed in a newspaper. The finer the dots, the more detail... theoretically, I can redo this stencil with tinier dots on a tighter mesh screen and get even better up close detail (still learning on that, of course)

So... the background would make a differnce. If this was on a red shirt, everthing that's white or grey would be red or greyish red, for example.

So, ideally, it would look best on white, but it could work on grey, or some other light colour. It wouldn't really work with light ink on a dark tee though, cuz then it would look like a negative.

So, you like this one in particular? or is there something else/more you'd like?

I like the Doctor Who one, but some other designs might be cool, too. I'll have to think about this. Or rather, think about it more since we've been bouncing around ideas for awhile now. ;-)
