Happy birthday, darlin'! :oD
*HUGE BIRTHDAY HUGS*
I would sing you 'Happy Birthday' but you won't be able to hear it, (and truthfully, this post is going to be big enough without writing all that out - aw, what the heck!)
*clears throat*
*cough cough*
Happy Birthday to youuuuu!
Happy Birthdayy too yooooouuu!
Happy Birthdayyy darlin' rouka!!!!
Happy Birthdaaayyyy Toooooooo Youuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!
As promised, for you specail day, I present to you (behind the cut cuz it's big, darlin'. 29 pictures big.)

We start our tour from the sidewalk out front of 2x2's little storey-and-a-half house.

On the brick pillar is a little garden stone my Nana gave us. Welcome!

Up the stairs....

Here's my awesome door knocker. Isn't he great?! You can hear him from anywhere in the house, he's so loud! :oD
Let's go inside, shall we? :oD

Here's the view of my entryway from just iside the door. The Christmas decorations are up!

There's some intersting stuff going up the side of the stairs here. Todd's stocking from home, the cats' stockings, and a rat in a plaid stocking at the top ;o) There are also some other nifty things here.

A brass key...

A fox plant hanger... (we got this last year because Todd likes fox things [Todd means fox, you know]} and they're soo hard to find!)

Wild Horses...

A little trivit...

And another little trivit...

And a Great Big Key with a lion rampant in the middle.
Many of these items once hung on the wall at Todd's Mom's house in a big display. When she took it down, we got several pieces which are now up in our entryway. The brass key, the trivits and the horses all came from there.

Next, our Baker's Stand. My Nana painted this little birdhouse for us. I want to put a thick coat of polyeurathane on it before it goes outside though. The pewter tankards were wedding gifts from some online friends. An unfortunate misunderstanding perpetrated by a manipulating person resulted in us ending our friendship with one of them the very next day, which lost us all of them, but we kept the tankards which I am very glad for, since we discovered several years later what had really happened, though it was too late for our friendships. They're both engraved, one says Anarchy and the other says Elfstone, our first online nicknames back in the days of BBSs :oD Those pictures stacked up came off the wall when we moved the baker's stand out here from what is now my sitting room and we just haven't hung them up again yet.

Down on the table top of the baker's stand is our Nativity. Todd's brother Shane built the pen and ladder and added the pots and other improvements to the stable and we substituted the Rankin and Bass puppet figures in place of the more traditional ones *GRIN*

We have, of course, Mary and Joseph, and the new born babe ;o>

The Shepherds and their flock of Toy 'Animals'...

The Three Wise Men...

And of course, Bumble’s got the Star! :oD

Over on the other wall we have a picture of Albrecht Durer’s Four Horsemen woodcut.

Below that, my winter hats! Hafta stay warm in the blustery Canadian winter, eh? ;o)

Next to these is this medievalesque picture that we found at Value Village one day and thought it was kinda cool.

Beside that we have this Plaid Mirror which my mother gave us for Christmas one year.

Next, two more items that came from Todd's Mom's wall - a Letter opener and Brass Bell. I told Todd that if I ever heard that bell ring, late at night after going to bed when no one else is in the house, I will freak!out! *G* That would be truly creepy and just the sort of thing you'd see in a horror movie, wouldn't it? *G*

Above is this Horse Trivet and Home Made Game Board that Todd's grandfather made. It has lots of tiny little wooden pegs, but they had a tendency to fall out of the holes, so we didn't put them up when we hung the board.

On the inside of the doorframe into the Family/Living room, is this Lion Doorknocker.

Next, we have this Gothic Mirror which we bought up in Bancroft one day at a place called Grumblin' Grannies. It has lots neat things, and we actually bought a few things there, the rest of which you'll see when we get to the bathroom :o)

Below that is this Fox in a Horseshoe, another item from the Wall at Todd's Mom's, with a blustery Snowman hanging from it for Christmas. This is the one decoration we almost always forget to pack up at the end of the season *G*

And lastly for the entryway, this Jingly Wreath on inside of the door, made entirely of silver and blue bells. It jingles merrily every time you open or close the door :o)
Well, that's it for Part One. I've taken too many pictures to do them all in one post (or even one day, it's far too late here now!!) But I wanted to give you the eccentric entryway, which you specifically asked for. Tomorrow we'll head upstairs to the bathroom, and we'll go on from there, a couple of rooms a day, until all 104 pictures are up (yes, 104. I TOLD you, I took too many pictures *G* And this is a pretty Brief tour, really! ;oD)
Anyway, I hope you have a delightful, wonderful, perfect day, dearest one. And just think - You're practically 24 now!!! ;oD
Many, many birthday wishes, darlin', and *HUGS and KISSES*
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
