Friday we had friends over to make characters for my husbands 'weird west' roleplaying game. I am one of the 'redlegs' (taken from The Outlaw Josey Wales) which is basically a roaming vigillante bent on distributing his own brand of justice to low life gunslingers and outlaws... he lives by a code, and is judge, jury and executioner all in one... not strictly within the law, not outside it either... should be fun, especailly considering we have two gunslingers in the group!

Saturday we headed to an SCA event. It was wet and rainy so neither the hubby nor I fought, but my brother-in-law had an amazing day on the field! We saw a friend get squired into my husband's Knight's household, as well as a young girl get taken as a page. I painted up a clay cup that I'll be getting sometime soon once it's been fired in the kiln, then participated in a Thrown Weapons contest. I was expecting it to be axes, as it usually is, but they decided to make it a knife throwing competition... and I just so happen to have a knack for throwing knives *G* So, I won. *G* Other than that, just hung out with friends, chatted, watched the fighting, and had a nice relaxing day.

Afterward, a bunch of us headed out for dinner to the restaurant the brother-in-law's girlfriend works at, so got free drinks and a 15% discount on dinnner! good deal! Then we went back to our place to watch Silent Hill. *insert Mal voice* That's a dumb movie!

I ended up staying up all night figuring out how to configure my new router to work with Bit Torrent and uploading the audio of Morena's Q&A to You Send It... I went to bed at 6am!!!!

Sunday the hubby and I went down to Harmony Valley Conservation Area and walked the trails for a while. The ragweed was really bad though, and gave me a fair headache. But it was a glorious day.
After our walk, we went to East Side Marios for lunch because we had a $10 off coupon (we had to spend $30 at our last visit to get it) Unfortunately, the fine print said you had to spend $40, excluding alchol and taxes, to use the coupon. As our bill only topped $40 because of my peach bellini (thank you [livejournal.com profile] terimaru for getting me hooked on these thing! So far Mandarin's has been the best, plus, the only one that came with a paper umbrella!) we couldn't use it... bummer.
After lunch we went to Chapters and I got a very cool Chinese - English dictionary! It's awesome! It has phrases that each word is used in, which will come in very handy! Also, I picked up an Itty Bitty Buddha in a box! A little buddha statue, stand and incense burner, and the box turns into a little shrine for him! So cool and cute!!!

Monday was back to work, and then Fight Practice in the evening! The first one in over a month for me. I did a lot better than I expected though, got some good kills with the thrust, tried out a new shield, fought my Knight, my squire brother and my Knight's page who will be legal to fight on Oct. 7th at our demonstration event! So, it was only my household there. I have a few bruises to show for it, but overall I fought well!
Fifth anniversary of 9/11... and also my parents 35th wedding anniversary. Yes, unfortunate for them, their 30th anniversary was the day of the terrorist attack, and will always have that reminder from now on. But, 35 years!! Yay mom and dad! I called to wish them a happy anniversary as they were on their way out to dinner. My parents rock!
Also found out that [livejournal.com profile] agent_rouka's sister was born yesterday!! soooo cute! I've never been a baby person before, but after my brother's daughter was born, I've learned a new appreciation... and my niece is the cutest thing ever, so when I say that le rouka's sister is cute, you know she must really be cute for me to think so *G* ALSO! my secret surprise for le rouka arrived today, less than a week when they told me it could take four to six weeks! Sweet! Which officially makes this week All About Teh Rouka :oD

Tuesday I woke up Extremely tired... almost faded on the highway several times - not good. Unfortunately, work was too demnading today and I did not get any more writing done *pouts* It was just a day of loading CD's onto a portable firewire drive, All Day Long.. I did 54 books.
At lunch, the hubbster and I went out and picked up the new release of the Theatrical Versions of A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi (hello $80 bucks!) and then went to Old Navy, where hubby got a new belt and some jeans, and I picked up some sneakers!!! They're green canvas and I love them!! Which has inspired me to do a Shoe Photo Essay, so watch this space for a future picspam post of my many different shoes (which mostly will be some of my 20+ pairs of Doc Martins, likely *G*)
On the way home from work, I was exhausted again, so I stopped and picked up an energy drink, and gorram if it didn't perk me right up! Huh... and this one tasted a hell of a lot better than the last one I had.... certainly made for a safer drive home!

And, that's me so far...

Upcoming events are Friday's trip to Montreal! Squeeeee! Which will hopefully include meeting the one and only [livejournal.com profile] goldy_dollar, and taking in a haunted dinner theatre. Should be fun!!!!
