This is Mal at his best - beyond all the natural leader's charisma, the roguish cleverness, this is what he gives to the people he loves. Empathy, acceptance, and the courage not to shrink from the most heartbreaking of circumstances. I love how cautious you made him here - he's considering what's best for Inara at every moment. And when we finally get to see his own feelings, his realization that their time together was going to be so short, his wish to hold on to a memory...oh so beautiful. You bring them to life!
