Oh this was PERFECT! They were both totally in character, the story is just fantastic and that ending! The build up to the kiss is totally delicious and the payoff doesn't disappoint at all! I gotta say my favourite bit is the dance though, Mal and Inara skirting around each other is fun to watch and Inara's little ramble through it was adorable! I also really loved this His lips brushed her hair. “Almost time,” he whispered.
The muscles in her abdomen tightened. “How will we know?” she breathed.
“You don’t know?” he asked, uncertainty creeping into his voice, and Inara understood they weren’t talking about the hour anymore.
“I know,” she affirmed softly, nodding once It's just so perfectly them saying things without saying things! I loved loved loved this fic :)
