for teh Rouka....

Top 10 Ways To Tell You're Reading A Fic By [livejournal.com profile] browncoat_2x2

1. ANGST.
2. Characters will end their dialog or thoughts with an elipses... to imply they are at a loss for words or trailing off in their thoughts.
3. There will be many gazes, looks, stares, eyeings and the averting of said, to the side, down, or just, generally, away.
4. Characters will always have 'verbed' while they are 'verbing' in almost every sentence.
5. There will be a Last Line With Meaning which might or might not feel clunky. (stole this from rouka, but it's true for me as well)
6. Everything will be written in block paragraphs.
7. There will be plot elements subtly (often too subtly) implied, to be, hopefully, gleaned through the subtle hints dropped.
8. Characters will usually be overwhelmed by one of the five senses when in close proximity to one another.
9. The story will end with a character smiling in reflection on future events to come.
10. ANGST!!!

And now, I'll add the two questions [livejournal.com profile] agent_rouka posted in her journal:

-- What are your favorite fics of mine and why?
-- What would you like to see me write more of?

Answer these questions in the comments, then post them in your own journal.

Ooh, ooh! I like the fic you wrote with the angst and the stuff and the people and the angst and the world and the angst! You know, the one where I cried after reading!

Seriously though, I really enjoy all of your stuff, most especially your moments between two characters (Yes, by 'two characters' I mean Mal and Inara) just talking. You're really good at just capturing the moment.

And the pain.

Did I mention the pain? *g*

*smoochies for all your writings*

ANGST.

Are you allowed to post the same answer twice?

Isn't that cheating? *g*

Actually - I *heart* this meme. It's all so interesting, and I am so gonna gack it later when I get bored. *nods*

Favourite fic - ALL OF THEM.

Actually, I think half of the fics I've archived in my memories are by you. *g*

But I have particular fondness for the one with all the angst.

4. Characters will always have 'verbed' while they are 'verbing' in almost every sentence.

I love it. That just sounds so dirty! :D

10. ANGST!!!

This one rings much more true than 1. ;)

My favorite fic of yours... oy vey. That lovely bit about Mal's education you wrote recently ranks high up. "First of Many".

- I notice I am missing a comprehensive list of "Fic by 2x2" on your memories section, while something else there makes me gleeeeeeeeeeee. *G* I'll just have to go with the fff-net profile... -

It's NOT "Cold Knowledge" for sure, because that one is traumatizing even while very pretty and effective. ;)

"Of Preachers And Protein" and "Brand Of Choice" rank equally on the funniness scale, because... bwahahaha!

Oh, I know. I know which one!! "Late Again"!!!!!!!!!!!111111!!!1!!!!111!!!!!!!!!!!!! For, err, certain reasons, yes.

Also, "Heaven-Sent" because that's Inara right there, and "Three Letters" for the utter heartbreak of it all. *crack*

And "Red". Because!!!!!

Best Original Character Award goes to Gabr'elle, of who we see just too little. :)

What should you write more of... Well, you could always write more humorous pieces, since the angst seems to be coming along all by itself very nicely! Also, you explore the past so beautifully. More of then, too!

And, generally... write more. :D

*snort* tee hee... well, it could be, depending on the context *G*

There is no context in which 'verbing' doesn't sound dirty, trust me! I wouldn't use it in front of my boss.. ;)

putting them in my memories in an organized fashion is a good idea...

Yeeeeees!

I only started using the memories feature after I started hunting through LJ for Firefly fic and noticing how helpful it is. Before that, well, I never had the need in 2 years of LJ-ing. For the longest time I had only one icon, too, hehehe.

I'll write you a little Gabr'elle one shot some day, just for you... :o)

*subtle squeeing at office-appropriate volume*

Must be the fluffy hair ;o>

*fluff*

*twirly-twirl*

Why... I knew it would serve a purpose one day!!
